I’m very much into designer furniture, although it sometimes misses a little coziness. While I was on the hunt for the perfect pouf, my designer furniture wishlist became even more longer than it already was. The perfect equestrian inspired pouf is off course designed by my alltime favorite brand “Hermès“. The website describes the Ottoman pouf as “les nécessaires d’Hermès“. And indeed, this musthave recalls the shape of a saddle, it offers small occasional seating and practical occasional storage. This piece is crafted in the style of fine leather goods and requires intricate craftsmanship. Available in different fabrics. What is your favorite? The ones with the horse print or the leather ones?Price of the Hermès Ottoman +- 10.000€. On to some alternatives that don’t break the bank. The “equestrian saddle Ottoman” (under- right) is a golden oldie that you often see in equestrian advertising and commercials. The pouf is informed by a traditional riding saddle, transformed into a luxurious retreat. Amply padded and swathed in panels of hand-finished leather, it features quilted stitching and piped trim. It retails at +-600€ and is available at www.restorationhardware.com.
The left pouf (above) is a high quality luxury pouf Ottoman in subtle pattern and layered texture that will add chic sophistication to any living space. Available at www.scenariohome.com for 720$. I was inspired to start writing this article by these 2 pictures on pinterest. Unfortunately I don’t know the name of the brands. If you do, let me know! When I am writing this article, I am actually in Paris, enjoying my coffee at the famous Cafe de Flore and looking at all the fashionable people passing by. Just so you know, fashion week is in full swing here. Next month I will be traveling to South Africa and I am on the hunt for the perfect carry-on travel bag. Off course one of the first stops to look for inspiration is Hermès. Let’s get rid of the idea the “Birkin” is the perfect bag….because you have to be openminded, right?
While strolling around at the travel section, this beauty caught my eyes immediately. The Hermès oxer. The bag was only launched in 2014 and you hardly see this model on the streets, which makes it even more attractive. I think it’s the perfect size to fit in all your bits and bobs while traveling and be stylish at the same time. My absolute favorite is this tan colored one, which has an equestrian touch.
Forget about the Birkin, let’s go OXER.
Which is your perfect carry-on bag?

This week, the gardens of L’école de Médecine in Paris were transformed into a catwalk. Creative Director of Hermès Menswear, Véronique Nichanian presented her Spring/Summer 2017 collection injected with some sulfur yellow details. Under the designer’s influence, French fashion house Hermès launched a digital platform devoted specifically to its men’s universe. Providing them with an accessible and easy-to-use experience that covers many menswear bases. Le MANifeste. The S/S17 collection is a fresh and fruity one, but still casual, elegant and with some equestrian influences. Our favorite –needtorobthebank– item is without a doubt the Yellow Birkin. To all men out there: let’s set some high fashion goals for next summer.

Time to go viral all the way and start with a fresh and new initiative on our blog. You ‘ve probably heared of the word “vlog“, which is actually a “video blog” and a form of web television. It’s pretty awkward to record yourself, but on the other hand it’s a great way to give you all a glimpse backstage during equestrian events. We are very lucky and honored that the Number 1 Equestrian social network in the UK “The Haynet” picked us up and featured our new vlogs on their website. You can subscribe to our Youtube channel here. Our first 2 vlogs were shot in The Netherlands, when we’ve attented a unique polo competition in the center city of Maastricht. We’ve also went to Amsterdam (a mustvisit when you’re in Europe) where luxury fashion house Hermès held their Festival des Métiers. With summer around the corner, lots of equestrian events are on the calender, so stay tuned for more!
