Pretty happy to be part of the press team during the Chio Aachen this year. As a yearly tradition, I will show you our favorite fashion picks of the event. The weather couldn’t be nicer, 28° degrees and as always the crowd was extremely enthusiastic. But while I am writing this blogpost, I am sitting in the press room, say hello to the airco : ).Chio Aachen

There were plenty of trade stands around the venue, 200 in total, where you can find the latest trends in the equestrian industry. Despite the heat wave, we’ve found some really lovely fall/winter clothes. This jacket by Sonnereiter (left) will definitely give you that effortless chic look in and outside the barn. The sweater and the blouse with the sparkly bow (right) are by Princess & Queens and reminds me a bit of the whole Gucci-bow-trend. Jacket Equestrian Gucci

Belt envy all the way with these leather croco and pony hair belts (left – 180€). If you are more on a budget, you’ll find beautiful leather belts with Swarovski elements. (right – 25€)Equestrian colorful belts swarovski

A golden oldie, but still one of my favorite riding boots, are the polo boots by Tucci (left). Even if you are looking for equestrian interior design, Chio Aachen is right up your alley. Check out this stylish wine rack, which looks very expensive, but  is actually very affordable (< 150€). And don’t we all want the pink and silver chair in the back?Brown leather boots pink chair

For all those equestrians out there who love to travel; this one is for you! What about this amazing hand luggage wrapped in polo horses? The ultimate eye-catcher at the airport 🙂 Polo horse luggage

As always the Hermès scarfs at their trade stand were waving around the big Rolex timepiece at the entrance. Who will win the Grand Prix of Chio Aachen this year? Keep an eye on our Instagram page and follow the action live next Sunday.Hermes Scarf Rolex watch

Elite competitors and world-class show jumping will be on display at CHIO Aachen this July, as the sport’s leading riders compete in the first equestrian Major of the year.

Each summer over 360,000 spectators travel to the iconic equestrian venue in West Germany to watch five disciplines of equestrian sport over 10 days, this includes dressage, eventing, driving, vaulting and show jumping. Hailed as the world’s greatest equine sporting exhibition, the historic CHIO Aachen is one of the calendar year’s most highly anticipated events.

The competition will culminate on Sunday 23 July with the highlight of the show, the Rolex Grand Prix. As part of the Rolex Grand Slam of Show Jumping the pinnacle of CHIO Aachen will be played out in front of a full house in the main jumping arena, a spectator setting which accommodates over 40,000 fans. Part of the magic of the Rolex Grand Prix at CHIO Aachen can be attributed to the notorious difficulty of the jumping efforts, designed by world-famous Frank Rothenberger. Generally considered the most demanding course for show jumping athletes, the competing horse and rider combinations will strive to be crowned the coveted champion by producing a faultless performance over the 1.60m 5* track.Rolex scot brash

Rolex prides itself on its long standing partnerships at the pinnacle of the sport. 2017 marks the 60th anniversary of Pat Smythe becoming Rolex’s first equestrian Testimonee, an example of an exceptional athlete who laid the foundations for the enduring relationship between Rolex and the world’s finest competitions and Testimonees that is thriving today.

CHIO Aachen is a shining example of that flourishing relationship. The affiliation between Rolex and Aachen has continued to go from strength-to-strength since ties were first made in 1999.

Rolex Director of Communication & Image, Arnaud Boetsch, said: “As Rolex celebrates 60 years in equestrianism we remain dedicated to one of the greatest equestrian shows of the calendar year. Like Rolex, Aachen is an iconic institution symbolising both heritage and world class performance.”rolex chio Aachen

Established collectively in 2013 by CHIO Aachen, CSIO Spruce Meadows ‘Masters’ and CHI Geneva, the Rolex Grand Slam of Show Jumping has been extended to four Majors with the inclusion of The Dutch Masters in 2018. Riders will now have the chance to win the coveted title at four events across the show jumping year while keeping the same format of needing to win three consecutive Majors to claim the Grand Slam title.

In 2017 the world’s best will be hoping to replicate the achievement of Rolex Testimonee Scott Brash, the British rider who made history in 2015 by winning every consecutive Grand Slam Event, the first ever rider to do so.

Brash remarked: “Every rider wants to be part of the Rolex Grand Slam and have the opportunity to try and win the most coveted prize in our sport. Aachen is a highlight of the year and everyone will be heading to the first equestrian Major with one aim, to win.

The year 2015 is very special in the history of the Aachen Laurensberger Rennverein. In addition to the FEI European Championships, the World Equestrian Festival was also staged at the Soers in Aachen at the end of May. Competitions in the three classic disciplines show jumping, dressage and driving were held on May 29th to 31st. Let me give you an impression. This main arena is already impressive by itself. On Saturday evening the audience became enthusiastic during the “Tank and Rast prize” Jump & Drive. A competition where a team comprises of one driver and one show-jumper. The rider starts first and has to complete a course of 8 obstacles. After the last obstacle, the rider dismounts (which is always a bit hectic), hands the horse over to the groom and jumps on carriage.

CHIO Aachen has a variety of topsport but shopping addicts also find their way near the showground. The hype this summer seems defenitely an infinity scarf with pastel colors as we’ve seen this in every shop.

A remarkable stand which attracted a lot of visitors, was Elly’s Team and her horse hair thickening solutions. If your furry friend has hair loss or you want to give him some extra volume, go for a tail-, forelock- or mane-toupee. There’s a wide range of colors.
